Free events for schoolchildren of Kyiv and the suburbs in the City of Power. You can visit in organized classes or groups

23 February 2024

According to the research of the Goodwill Club 73%, Ukrainian teenagers today are most worried about the war: fear for their lives, uncertainty, concern for relatives who are in military service, lack of offline education and communication with peers.

Almost for 37%, it was during the war that it became more difficult to find friends. At the same time, communication itself is a stabilizing factor for teenagers, it helps distract from bad news and reduces anxiety.

Despite the fact that the war has become the background of life for millions of children and adolescents who remain in Ukraine, they are eager to learn new knowledge and skills (91%), want to learn how they can support themselves in difficult times (83%) and feel that they are lacking an informal platform for communication and interaction.

To support teenagers, to help them develop resilience and confidence in difficult times, the Dobrodiyiv Club invites educational institutions of Kyiv and the region to organized inspirational meetings, workshops and interactive theater in the space for teenagers - Places of Strength!

What is happening in the City of Power?

  • Group meetings "War/Life Balance. How to support yourself in today's reality?" — such events are designed to help teenagers find a point of support within themselves, develop resilience and gain a transformative experience. The workshop consists of 2 parts: interactive (interaction with a psychologist) and inspirational (interaction with an invited star guest). Yes, teenagers learn to work with their emotions, get practical tools to combat stress, and also - stories of those who manage to cope with challenges and move forward even during war.
  • "Non-toxic workshop. Pump up your confidence" - What to do when faced with bullying? How to deal with situations that are not ok? How to recognize different types of violence in everyday situations and where to turn for help? During non-toxic workshops, we figure out together how to develop resilience and confidence in difficult times, how to recognize stereotypes, fight them and stand up for yourself.
  • Interactive theater is a one-and-a-half-hour performance-reflection on current topics, where children become the main protagonists, as full-fledged participants in the performance. Interactive theater gives an opportunity to reveal one's emotions, feelings and thoughts, as well as channel them into creativity.
  • Workshops "Creativity is an antidote to stress" — these classes are primarily about space, where emotions come first, and not professional drawing, embroidery, or beading skills. We collage, draw, embroider, create author's jewelry or decor, customize clothes, and most importantly, we distract ourselves, free up resources and definitely do not pretend to be Van Gogh.

How to get to the Place of Power with classmates?

The director, teacher, class leader or educator fills out a form indicating the age group of students, expressing a desire to visit the "Place of Strength" space in an organized manner.

Next, we contact the educational institution, fix the number of visitors and a convenient date and time, the chosen activity (or several) and invite them to the Place of Power. We are located next to Art. Poshtova Ploshcha, and we have a stylish and safe shelter, so it's convenient to get to us, and it's safe to stay.

Why are such meetings useful?

1️⃣ Motivation and Self-determination
Teenagers are often searching for their own identity and purpose in life. Meeting successful people can be a source of motivation, helping young people better understand their needs and values, and perhaps define their future path.

2️⃣ Skill Development and Career Orientation
A cook or a producer? Director or culturist? Or maybe an emergency doctor? Meetings allow teenagers to see first-hand the diversity of development paths and participate in open discussions with professionals.

3️⃣ Stress and Emotional Well-being
Today's teenagers often face stress and uncertainty. Such meetings can provide them with support, as well as inspire, first of all, the positive experience of the speakers.

4️⃣ Social Interaction
Inspirational meetings provide an opportunity to discuss important topics with peers and adults. It helps to develop social skills, improve relationships and understand the diversity of opinions and views.

We filled out the form, what next? After filling out the form, the fund coordinator will contact you with all questions.
