The urban planning course helped the teenagers see the city not as something “ready-made,” but as a space that can be changed. Over the course of three months, they explored why pedestrian streets are more important than parking lots, how to create a space that is accessible to everyone — from children to people with disabilities — and how to preserve historical heritage without hindering the development of the city. The teenagers delved into the topics of smart planning, urban problems, and finding creative solutions. Most valuable, they felt that their vision could influence the city today.

Experts who strengthened the Place of Power in May
06 June 2025

May became a month when complex topics sounded simple, and new knowledge was especially important. Our experts — from different fields, with different experiences, but with the same sincerity — shared knowledge, inspired to be brave, act, dream and ask questions. It was about life, about technology, about choices, about ourselves and about the future. Let's remember together what events made this month so unforgettable👇
First Aid Training from Respawn School 🩺
May began with a useful first aid training, where teenagers learned:
- assess the victim's condition;
- determined the algorithm of actions in case of loss of consciousness;
- learned how to perform basic resuscitation;
- stop bleeding with improvised means.
Thank you to each instructor, which closely, with with humor and patience transmitted your knowledge and created a safe, dynamic atmosphere in which it was possible to ask questions, make mistakes, and try again. Thanks to the Respawn School team, the participants gained not only knowledge, but also the feeling: I can be useful. And that is priceless!
Secrets of the world of robots with Olea Zota 🤖
UkraineRobotics CEO Olya Zota shared how robots are created, what opportunities STEM opens up, and how to take the first steps in robotics now. Teenagers learned how the hexapod Kulya — a six-legged robot created by Olya — works, and how robotics projects can combine engineering, design, creativity, and even emotional intelligence.
The lecturer talked about her journey in technology, the importance of experimentation and error, team support, and encouraged not to be afraid to dream big — even if the idea seems too complicated at first glance. The meeting inspired many participants to look at the future of the profession from a new angle.
Lecture on inclusivity from the NGO "Accessible.UA" ♿
Together with Natalia Parkhitko, they talked about the real challenges of people with disabilities, about respect, about stereotypes - and about how to change the world with small actions. The lecturer shared with the teenagers stories from life that helped them better understand the daily barriers that people with disabilities face - both in space and in communication.
Together we explored why a ramp is not a privilege but a basic need, why words matter, and how attitudes change when pity is replaced by partnership. This meeting was an important step towards developing empathy and a responsible view of a society where everyone has the right to be visible and included.
Acting skills with Gio Pachkoria 🎭
During the practical training, participants learned to work with their voice, body, and emotions, overcome stage fright, and discover their presence. Together with Gio, participants explored how emotions affect body language, tried out different stage roles, and learned how to remain sincere and convincing in any performance — not only on stage, but also in everyday communication.
Many admitted after the class that for the first time they were able to allow themselves to be free without being afraid of making mistakes. There was a lot of laughter, improvisation, and moments when everyone on stage became a little more confident in life.
Completion of the Urban Studies course with Urbanrukh 🏙
The future of technology with EPAM and Web3 experts 🌐
A lecture with representatives of EPAM and experts from the Web3 world helped teenagers understand how technologies are changing our present and future. They immersed themselves in the world of artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, blockchain, and digital currencies. Together, we not only learned about current trends, but also explored how these tools are already affecting education, creativity, and business.
Special attention was paid to practical experience: participants tried out ChatGPT in content creation, figured out how the NFT wallet works, and learned why young people are already becoming leaders of digital change today. The main thing that teenagers learned from this meeting is that the future is not being formed somewhere far away, but here and now. And they can participate in it today.
Lecture "Adult Children: Youth in the Vortex of the 20th Century" 📚
We turned an ordinary lesson into an exciting journey through time and met teenagers who, a hundred years ago, dreamed, fell in love, lost, fought — and made choices in the most difficult circumstances. What is it like to be a schoolboy during a revolution? How does it feel when your city disappears from the map, and instead of vacations, you have to evacuate? Teenagers learned about their peers from the 20th century as real heroes and ordinary people at the same time. This lecture became not only a history lesson, but also a reflection on the values, choices, and power of youth then and now.
An inspiring meeting with Kateryna Osadcha 🎤
The meeting with Kateryna Osadchaya was special — warm, frank, and very lively. She talked not only about her journey in television, but also about moments of doubt, search, and inner strength. The teenagers learned how the "Search for the Missing" initiative was born, what stories stand behind this project, and why it is important not to be silent when you can help. Kateryna sincerely answered questions, shared her experience working with cameras, the audience, and her personal rules for balancing career and values. She not only inspired — she set an example of a mature, courageous, and inclusive person that you want to become.
We are infinitely grateful to every expert who came to the Place of Power to share not only their knowledge, but also their path, dreams, and faith in youth. A new portion of inspiration awaits you in June: even more interesting guests, practical workshops, and sincere conversations. Follow schedule on our website and announcements in Instagram💛
