The Place of Power is becoming more accessible for teens with disabilities

The Place of Strength is taking its first steps towards accessibility and is announcing classes for teens with disabilities starting in May. We are adapting the space and program so that visitors with physical and sensory disabilities can receive the necessary psycho-emotional support!
Why is this important?
Many adolescents with disabilities are isolated from their peers due to infrastructure limitations and a lack of adapted programs. They are often left alone with their experiences, as it is much more difficult for them to arrange transportation and visits.
This is especially acute in times of war, when the challenges of everyday life are compounded by increased levels of stress, anxiety, and uncertainty.
Our goal
We strive to create an environment where as many teenagers as possible feel important, accepted, and heard. At the Place of Strength, they can become part of a community, receive accessible support, develop confidence and emotional resilience, enjoy lively interaction with peers, and feel a sense of belonging and safety.
Our classes are an opportunity to create together, share experiences, and support each other. Here, teenagers with different experiences learn from each other, overcome difficulties together, and celebrate successes.
What is changing?
We have adapted our space for the convenience and safety of all visitors:
- The first floor is fully accessible.
- Adapted shelter.
- Updated support programs that take into account different needs.
These changes are just the beginning of our journey to creating a truly inclusive environment where every teenager can feel comfortable and safe.
