“Space became a place of my own strength for me”: the story of 13-year-old Fedor
When 13-year-old Fedir Kolisnyk first crossed the threshold of the Place of Power last winter, he had no idea how much this space would change his life. Today, for the seventh-grader, this place has become a second home, where he finds support, inspiration, and new opportunities for development.
In his free time from studies, the boy enjoys drawing and swimming. "I go to the gym, I really like drawing, and I also do backstroke swimming.", – he talks about his hobbies.
In addition, Fedir is a true anime connoisseur. "In the anime club we once watched "I Want to Eat Your Pancreas" and I really liked it. Now I can confidently call it my favorite and, by the way, it's about love".
The boy learned about the Place of Power from his mother. "When I first got here, I immediately felt a special atmosphere. It's so comfortable here, so many nice people and volunteers! During this time, I made many new friends. The best thing about this place is that there are no toxic people here.", – he explains.
Fedor remembers his first day at the Place of Power down to the smallest details. "And the first day? Oh, that was something! I attended an inspiring meeting with KILIMMEN from the band KALUSH, I've been dreaming about this for a long time", – the teenager shares his memories.
When asked which star guest he would like to see in space, the guy gives an unexpected answer. "This is probably a very unpopular answer, but I would like Ruslana, the winner of Eurovision 2004, to visit us. I went to her concert this summer - it was incredible! I like her songs, so I would really like to meet her in space.".
Classes at the Place of Power became an important part of his life. "I usually go to the space 2-3 times a week. We have a chat with friends where we agree on who will go to which activities. You can often hear the phrase "if you go, then I will go too". In general, the Place of Power is one big company.”, – he adds with a smile.
Among the various activities in the space, the guy likes discussion clubs the most. "I like to attend classes with a psychologist, where we discuss relationships with parents and personal life. They are often led by psychologists Zhenya and Olya - they are very cool", – says the guy.
He notes the positive impact of the classes: "It has become easier for me to share my experiences. I really want to take therapy courses, but I haven't had time to sign up yet - my peers are immediately taking up places.".
The summer camp in space made the biggest impression on Fedor. “I always dreamed of spending whole days in the Place of Power, from morning to night, with my friends. And since I had been studying acting for a year, the camp was a special experience for me – I was given the leading role of the Hatter. By the way, the space still keeps the hat from my costume, which we made in preparation for the performance.”, – the teenager shares his memories.
In addition to workshops and classes with a psychologist, the guy is taking confident steps towards his future profession. "I took an IT course at the Place of Power - it was a very useful experience, because in the future I want to do 3D graphics and create models for video games"He is currently raising funds for a powerful laptop to start practicing this.
For Fedor, the Place of Power is associated with three words: support, creativity, and relaxation. Indeed, this space has become much more than just a place to spend free time - it is a real community of like-minded people, where everyone can find themselves and their path to development.
"Since I started coming here, I have become more open, I have gotten rid of my problems, and it has become easier for me to live. Here I left behind many of my experiences, finally found moral support. The space has literally become a place of my own strength for me.", – the guy shares.
Fedir has an important message for those hesitant to visit the space. "There are no toxic people here, everyone is welcomed with an open heart. The main thing is to take the first step and come!".
