October in the City of Power became special for many teenagers, because a famous public figure and volunteer, Serhiy Prytula, visited us!<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a candid conversation about everything that worried teenagers: how not to burn out from studying, why it's not a shame to see a psychologist, and how to find a balance between online and real life \ud83d\udcf1<\/span><\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfaf Why is Ukrainian cool?<\/b><\/h3>\n

Serhiy paid special attention to the topic of the Ukrainian language and identity. He spoke about how language shapes our national consciousness and why it is important during a full-scale war.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2022, the Ukrainian language became more common and it was wonderful. I was convinced that this was an irreversible process. The trend towards Ukrainian continued in 2023. However, this year, research showed that the trend began to recede to the level of 2021,\u201d shares Serhiy.<\/span><\/p>\n

A familiar situation? The bell rings from class \u2013 and everyone in the class switches to Russian \ud83d\ude14\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Serhiy shared a story about his vacation in Genichesk during the pandemic: \u201cWe come to a cafe \u2013 there is Russian music, the menu is in Russian\u2026 And then I said, pointing towards the occupied Crimea: \u201cSomeday they will come from there and say \u2013 this is ours.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

"As long as the Russian language is widely used in our country and as long as you live with the feeling that it is OK, the threats to our lives will be existential. It will not disappear from the horizon, perhaps throughout your entire life. Looking at you, we hope that you will not allow yourself to be manipulated," Serhiy emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n
