I am shining and my parents are happy that thanks to the City of Strength I have finally started to discover myself — 12-year-old Marina
Kiyanka Maryna is a fan of travel. At the age of 12, she managed to visit Turkey, Egypt, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, and the Czech Republic. The girl saw part of the countries thanks to her teacher, who organizes bus tours for schoolchildren, and she visited another part together with her mother.
However, the girl says, in recent years, travel has taken a back seat due to the situation in the country. In addition, with growing up there were more lessons, plans and tasks.
"At the end of last winter I had a lot of tests and I was very stressed about it. Mom started looking for a place where I could relax, relieve tension and open up. Once on the Internet, she saw the news about the opening of the Place of Power and suggested that I visit this space", — Marina remembers.
The design made the first impression on the girl.
"I was shocked, kIt was the first time I entered the Place of Power. Everything here is so bright, modern and stylish. I am interested in architecture and interior design and the first thing that struck me the most was this an incredible view from the window of the art zone!».
The second positive impression on me was made by volunteers, administrators and other teenagers.
"I was surprised that on the very first day, four friends appeared in the space. As a child, my parents called me Dandelion, because I was very kind, sometimes even too naive. As I got older, I began to realize that my friends were just using me and I lost trust in people. I closed in on myself. And only in the Place of Power, for the first time in a long time, I relaxed and felt that there are the same children as me, who just want to communicate and have a great time», — said the girl.
So Marina became an active visitor to various events in the City of Power. Over time, the girl noticed that she even began to dress more brightly, express herself more actively and trust the world around her more.
"My parents are happy that I finally started to open up and I have new friends. I am no longer afraid to make acquaintances and I stopped seeing danger in every person. Even when foreigners come to the Place of Power, I am happy to communicate with them in English», — Marina admits.
I love the sense of freedom that prevails in the Place of Power.
"There are no restrictions and strict rules in the space, here you feel free in your actions and creativity. The atmosphere is very friendly. If someone is closed, then everyone immediately gathers and tries to demonstrate that there is trust here, that there are people who care», - shared the girl inspired.
Marina plans to visit the Place of Power throughout the summer. In addition, the girl already has plans for the new school year and wants to spend her weekends in space.
"I believe that the Place of Power needs to scale. After all, this is a unique space where you can come after heavy psychological stress and just relax. I think teenagers need such a place in all big cities of our country», — Marina said dreamily at the end of our conversation.
